Testimonials
Dennis Smith, Dennis Smith Refrigeration, PA50-98SW Classic II™ Panel Body
“The Classic II body purchased in 2001 is far superior to the Classic body purchased in 1999. The heavier doors and wider door openings on the Classic II are great.”
Charles Field, M C M Mech. Corp., SC100F+8 Space Cap
“The unit works great and your dealer did a great job customizing racks and fit out.”
Terry Reifeiss, Conway Heating & Cooling, TM96W Tool Mates
“It is nice to see a quality product being provided in the U.S.A. I’m a very hard person to please, satisfied with your product. Thank you for a quality product.”
Grey Harris, Harris Bros., U98ABSW Classic® Series Standard Bodies
“We really like the new aerodynamic service bodies.”
Frank Hicks, Newcomb & Co. US98ABSW Classic® Series Spacemaker Service Body
“We have been using Reading products for 25 years. Great products.”
Gary Lintner, Farfield Company, 98FASW Classic® Series Service Body
“This is the 3rd service body I had from Reading(69, 89 in aluminum, 98). The 69 lasted 20 years before rust claimed it. The alum 89 is still in service with a different driver. All things considered, the service bodies are a fantastic tool for someone who must work out of a truck. Well worth the expense.”
Jeanette McCann, M. S. T. Mech. Cont. Inc., U98ABSW Classic® Series Service Body
“We have been very pleased with the unit that we purchased in December 1996. We plan to expand our business and will purchase more products in the future from Reading.”
Timothy Bryan, Beaver Mechanical Contractors, Inc., TM96P Tool-Mate
“Great overall product!”
George Kruck, Hallelujah Heating & Air, Special 98" long Storage Box
“My service body was custom built per my ideas and plan. The blueprints were drawn up and sent to me for review and approval. Thereafter, construction began. The thought and planning for two years came into place. My truck is so beautiful and everything works PERFECT. I receive complements on it everyday, and it is a joy to work out of. You all did a fantastic job, and I will be a Reading customer for life. Good job-well done, and thank you for building such a quality service body.”

Reading Service Body Proves to be a Durable Body

Company Name: Landes Heating & Air Conditioning
Reading Products: Classic® Series Spacemaker® service body
Type of Service: Heating, Air Conditioning & Ventilation Contractor

Landes Heating & Air Conditioning recently purchased a Reading Classic® Series Spacemaker® service body, model S98SW, to utilize as a service vehicle. The Classic® Series Spacemaker® service body features weathertight exterior storage compartments, an open cargo area, and optional top opening compartments for an additional 15% of storage space. The body was mounted on an F250 heavy duty chassis.
As a heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning contractor, Landes Heating & Air Conditioning efficiently performs service work and routine maintenance as well as responding to emergency calls with the aid of the Classic® Series Spacemaker® service body. Their service area encompasses a 50-mile radius area.
According to Phil Landes, Service Manager, they chose the Reading Classic® Series Spacemaker® service body because “it is known to be of better quality.” They typically transfer bodies from two to three different trucks to get the most use out of them. They try to get the most miles and life out of the vehicle by utilizing it in the service department where they put most of the miles on initially. When the vehicle accumulates a lot of miles, it is utilized by the Start-up Department where they start and test new HVAC installations.
Landes Heating & Air Conditioning customized their unit with a removable side mounted ladder rack and a sliding top. The sliding top provides cover and protection to the cargo area. Running along full-length tracks, the sliding top is held in an open or closed position with spring-loaded latches, and locks with a positive action T-handle lock. The enclosed cargo area is utilized for carrying large items such as filters, vacuums, refrigerant tanks, refrigeration recovery equipment, recovery tanks, torches, and for hauling items back to the shop for repairs.
Landes Heating & Air Conditioning utilizes the spacious body compartments to carry a big variety of items such as HVAC testing equipment, parts, supplies, service and maintenance tools, and filters.
Landes Heating & Air Conditioning has been in business for 52 years and employs 28 personnel. They have a fleet of more than 20 trucks including pickups.
Standard features of the Reading body include construction of two-sided A60 galvannealed steel and Lectro-Life® immersion priming for complete rust protection. Other standard features include automotive-quality, rotary locks for secure protection to tools and equipment; stainless steel bolt-on hinges keeping the compartment doors operating smoothly in all weather conditions; and double paneled compartment doors offering greater durability.
The Reading Classic® Series Spacemaker® service body was purchased through Special Fleet Service, Inc., an authorized Reading distributor, located in Harrisonburg, VA.

Reading Service Body Improves Efficiency

Company Name: Farfield
Reading Products: Classic® Series service body
Type of Service: HVAC, Electrical, Sheet Metal

Gary Lintner of Farfield believes the right service vehicle helps his service technicians to be more efficient on the job. Besides being weathertight, and offering easy access to tools and equipment, a service vehicle must hold up over the years.
Since 1972, Farfield has been using Reading Classic® Series service bodies as their industrial service vehicles. Why has Farfield chosen Reading bodies? Simply, “because they hold up” says Gary Lintner. “We have tried the competition, and their bodies did not last like our Reading bodies.”
Farfield is a specialty contractor involved in HVAC , electrical, sheet metal and welding services throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Delaware. Covering a large territory means the industrial service technicians must have enough equipment and tools on hand to properly service the many challenges they encounter.
The Classic® Series service bodies offer weathertight exterior storage compartments and an open cargo area, giving the technician organized storage options, and increasing their efficiency on the job.
Farfield purchases their Reading Classic® Series service bodies through Crest Truck Equipment, an authorized Reading distributor located in Bowmansville, PA.
Each Classic® service body is completely constructed of two-sided zinc-coated A-60 galvannealed steel, which provides the first layer of rust protection. After the bodies are assembled, they received Reading’s Lectro-Life® immersion priming process providing the most complete rust and corrosion protection in the industry. Other standard features include double panel compartment doors for increased strength; bolt-on stainless steel pin hinges which securely hold doors in place and ensure smoother operation in all weather conditions; flange-mounted automotive rubber door seals providing weathertight protection of tools and equipment; automotive-quality rotary locks which offer greater security to valuable tools and equipment; and a rugged understructure that is reinforced at all critical stress points providing optimum durability.

Sippin Energy Products is Flippin’ Over Reading Spacemaster

Company Name: Sippin Energy Products
Reading Products: Spacemaster
Type of Service: HVAC installation and repair

Recently, Gary Sippin of Sippin Energy Products, purchased a Reading Spacemaster body for use as a service truck.
Gary Sippin is amazed at the amount of room the Spacemaster offers, including enclosed cargo area and the ability to keep his tools safe and dry in the exterior compartments. Interior cargo space is really important to Gary because they carry boilers, fuel tanks, and hot water heaters. Weathertight exterior compartments are a necessity because Sippin transports expensive tools and wiring equipment. This truck is also equipped with a pipe rack, ladder rack, and a lift-gate to help load and unload heavy tanks and boilers. Gary Sippin chose to have the body mounted on a Mitsubishi chassis because it is powerful, and it has tight turning radius for city driving.
Sippin Energy Products specializes in the installation and repair of heating and cooling products. Sippin Energy services all Fairfield County Connecticut.
The body was purchased from New Haven Body, an authorized Reading distributor located in North Haven, Connecticut.
Like all Reading products, the Spacemaster is constructed of two-sided zinc coated A-60 galvannealed steel, which provides the first layer of rust protection. After the bodies are assembled, they receive Reading’s Lectro-Life® immersion priming process providing the most complete rust and corrosion protection in the industry. Other standard features include stainless steel bolt-on hinges, fully unitized welded understructure, and flange-mounted automotive rubber door seals.
