Reading Bodies are Built to Last

Company Name: W. D. Zwicky & Sons
Reading Products: Aerotech® Service Body
Type of Service: Excavating and Recycling

W.D. Zwicky & Sons purchased a Reading Aerotech® Service Body, model N102SW, and had it mounted on a Chevy chassis. The Aerotech® Service Body is an aerodynamic service body constructed of 100% steel (no plastic parts) with exterior storage compartments and an open cargo area. The body is being utilized as a service vehicle.
According to Dave Zwicky, President, he chose the Reading Aerotech® Service Body because “my first truck was a Reading body, and I keep using it. I still have a 1978 and a 1985 truck with a Reading body on each of them. I am satisfied with the quality and workmanship.” W.D. Zwicky & Sons customized their Aerotech® Service Body with trays to organize their tools and parts, tie-down clips on the inside of the bed to secure loads, pinstripping, and lettering. They utilize the spacious body compartments to store bolts, spare parts for different machines, wrenches, sockets, air tools, safety supplies, and a fire extinguisher. The open cargo area is efficiently utilized for carrying parts, buckets, construction materials, a fuel tank, and air compressors.
W.D. Zwicky & Sons is a recycling and excavating contractor, and the Aerotech® Service Body aids them in their day to day business. They do organic recycling of tree stump roots, soils, yard wastes such as leaves and grass, and they make landscaper materials such as mulches and soil additives. They also do land fill mining and land clearing for developments, airports, highways, and industrial parks. Occasionally, they also perform demolition work.
W.D. Zwicky & Sons has been in business for over 30 years and employs 30 people. Their service area includes eastern Pennsylvania to the Delaware River, Delaware, Maryland, and occasionally New Jersey and other areas. Their fleet consists of 104 motorized vehicles including excavators, bull dozers, tractors, other large equipment, and 11 Reading bodies. Of the Reading bodies, two are Cranemaster Bodies, and eight are Classic® Series Service Bodies.
The Aerotech® Service Body was purchased through Crest Truck Eq. Co., Inc., an authorized Reading distributor, located in Bowmansville, PA.
Each Aerotech® Service Body is completely constructed of two-sided, zinc coated, A60 galvannealed steel, which provides the first layer of rust protection. After the bodies are assembled, they receive Reading’s Lectro-Life® immersion priming which provides the most complete rust and corrosion protection in the industry.
Concealed compartment door hinges and heavy duty automotive style rotary locks aid in making the Aerotech® Service Body tamper proof. The compartment doors feature a deep press-formed inner panel making the door more resistant to bending. All hinges and locks are bolted in place for easy replacement.

Reading Service Body Continues to be the Product of Choice for Litzau Excavating

Company Name: Litzau Excavating
Reading Products: Aerotech® service body
Type of Service: Residential and commercial excavating

Litzau Excavating recently purchased a Reading Aerotech® Service Body, model N134DW, to aid them in their excavating business.
The Reading Aerotech® is an aerodynamic service body constructed of 100% steel (no plastic parts) with exterior storage and an open cargo area.
According to Audrey Litzau, owner, Litzau Excavating purchased a Reading Aerotech® Service Body because they have owned several Reading service bodies over the last 28 years, they like the style, and “it’s a good product.”
Litzau Excavating chose to have the Aerotech® mounted on a 1999 Ford Super duty F550 chassis and had the body customized with various features. A black rubberized coating was applied to the entire inside bed area, for protection against paint chips; the rear bumper was modified with a pintle hook and a trailer hitch, for heavy trailer pulling; and the floor was reinforced, to allow for a crane. The crane aids them in lifting heavy equipment onto the pickup such as fuel tanks, generators, and other types of equipment. They also had drawers installed in the two front vertical compartments for storage of their tools, and gravel guards were installed on the front of the body. Reading gravel guards are constructed of aluminum deckplate, protecting the body from road splatter kicked up by the tires. In addition, the chassis was equipped with a 10 ft. snow plow.
Litzau Excavating utilizes the weather tight storage compartments to house tools, supplies, fittings for water and sewer lines, and a laser setup. The spacious cargo area is efficient for carrying other larger supplies and materials such as pipes, shovels, and rakes.
Litzau Excavating is a very diverse excavating company. They perform excavation of basements, private driveways, water and sewer lines, ponds, lagoons for farmers, etc. They’ve been in business for 28 years and operate under Darian Litzau, Owner. In addition to the Aerotech® Service Body, their fleet consists of two tractors, three dumps, and a pumper truck. Their service area includes a 24 mile radius around Lester Prairie, MN and extends beyond, at times.
The Aerotech® Service Body was purchased through Crysteel Truck Equipment, an authorized Reading distributor, located in Lake Crystal, MN.
Each Aerotech® service body is completely constructed of two-sided, zinc-coated, A-60 galvannealed steel, which provides the first layer of rust protection. After the bodies are assembled, they receive Reading’s Lectro-Life® immersion priming process providing the most complete rust and corrosion protection in the industry.
Concealed compartment door hinges and heavy-duty automotive style rotary locks aid in making the Aerotech® service body tamper proof. The compartment doors feature a deep press-formed inner panel making the door more resistant to bending. All hinges and locks are bolted in place for easy replacement.
